Artifact: blog posts
Reflection:
This artifact, my Weebly blog posts, reflect and respond to all of my instructional technology courses. I have reflected on all of my newly acquired skills and abilities in the blog posts. For ITECH 7430, I responded and reflected upon various technology tools that I had the opportunity to learn and integrate into my instruction as a classroom teacher.
In my blog posts and ITEC 7430 blogs, I regularly evaluate and reflect on my newly acquired skills and knowledge. I also reflect and evaluate my experience in each class strengthened my ability to integrate technology into my daily instruction. I reflected upon my professional practice and dispositions by giving examples of things that went well, ideas for how a technology coach could approach situations, and how I could adjust my methods and choices in tools to complete certain tasks. Examples are which web 2.0 tools to use, what tools assist English Language Learners (ELL) students when learning new vocabulary, and reflected on the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis.
The process of completing these artifacts was beneficial to me in many ways. Posting the blogs gave me a chance to reflect upon my own skills and knowledge when it comes to coaching others in technology. This was a way for me to continue referring back to previously learned material so I could refer back to them later if needed. One thing I would have done differently would have been to blog after each activity completed. This would have assisted me in remembering detailed information about each of the assignments completed in each course.
This artifact impacts student learning and faculty development. Using my acquired skills from each course, I was able to coach teachers that affected faculty development. Presenting information to the staff about new web 2.0 tools, how to use BYOT, and how to utilize Canvas impacted student learning and faculty development. The faculty development can be assessed by my ability and improvement in my professional learning presentations. This can be accomplished by surveys given at the end of the sessions or a quick online poll.
